Let the Madness Begin

It is that time of year.  March Madness is underway...dad even walked me through the bracket and let me pick out the teams I thought would win.  Apparently if I win money I get to go to the toy store!   (as of right now, I am tied for 2nd - yeah, baby!)  Along with the start of the tournament, today is the 1st day of Spring...and boy is it nice out.  I hear that isn't going to last long though.  And the best thing about today?  It is Elmo's birthday!  I won't divulge her age on the web, but she is more than 20 times older than me.  Whoa.  We skyped with her to send our wishes.  But we also spent last weekend in Lincoln with her.  So you know that is a present in itself!  (It is also cousin Will's 6th birthday - geez what a special day, huh?!)

We did have a lot of fun with Elmo.  We went to the mall where we got to ride a carousel and mess around and she took us in the wagon to the park!  I loved it.  Especially diving head first down any slide I could get up.  I was not so happy when we left.  Elmo dug out some colors and toys, etc. for us, so I had plenty of fun inside.  Give me anything artsy and I am good to go.  And of course my Nala had a blast playing with her BFF, Sadie.  While we were in Lincoln we did lots of other fun things:

- We had a little visit over to Papa McLain's to give him some hugs among other things.  Apparently all the pictures my mom took on her camera (not phone) while we were in Lincoln (as well as me showing off my super cute St. Patty's day outfit) never actually saved to the SD card.  Booooo technology!  Just take my word for it, Papa still looks good!
Hanging with Gabby
- A lot of the Steffen family was also in town!  So we went down to the Embassy and hung out some.  I immediately was swooped up by people wanting to hold me.  I was good with it until all these boys started carrying me all around then I let papa know I had enough and I needed some hugs.  We got to see lots of cousins, even if it was for a short while.  Uncle Brian and Mallorie even joined us for a dinner with Nana & Papa before we had to go back to Elmos and dad headed up to Rachelle's house.  (He spent his Saturday putting in an A/C for her while we played....I think we got the better deal).

- Amelia, don't forget about the birthday party we got to go to before we drove back.  It was Anabel & Eloise's 3rd bday party.  That's right....2 of them.  Twins.  They had a party at this indoor gym.  The bummer was that you had to be 3 to get in the fun area (there was a toddler area, but come on!).  I wasn't having any of that...so anytime mom turned away, I went for it and tried to enjoy as much as I could before she caught me.  I think she had given up on me, but then I got busted by the staff.  Boo.  Luckily I was distracted by some yummy snacks and cake pops!  Hopefully next time we are in town we can go see the twins new house.

And some additional updates from the past few weeks.

- Nana and Papa came to town for a visit.  We got to go out to dinner, which I always love and the next day I guess mom & dad celebrated their (kind of) 6th Anniversary with a night on the town.  I just know we had fun playing without them and they didn't look so hot the next morning when they got home.  So we tried to take it easy on them the rest of the day.

- Outside of that, we have just had fun enjoying the nice (most of the time) weather.  We love swinging and going on walks.

- As you can see, Heidi has been real big on giving kisses.

- She is happy most all of the time.  Even when her hair is out of control.  Hey there.....pot calling kettle, sister!

- And I continue to astound the 'rents with all I know.  They say I am a little sponge right now.  Here I am reading to mommy.

Guess that is it for now.  Amelia OUT!
