Red, White, and Boom!

Yet again, lots of updates to share.  Dad and I say we need to stick around home more often and just kick back.  I mean, I never have time to blog!  Here are the highlights since last time:

Big fun #1, Grandpa McLain came to visit!  We had a fun time hanging out with him.  He came to watch me in gymnastics Sat AM.  I think he was quite impressed with my skills.  Well at least when Heidi didn't distract him!  Here's the deal....I am already annoyed that I don't get to go into the super cool gym....at least I can get papa to play with me some. 



After Amelia's class we picked up dad and headed to the Royals game!  Apparently we are bad luck, because once again we brought rain to the game.  Actually it was nice for a while, so at least grandpa got to enjoy his first MLB game in a LONG time for a few innings.  We were lucky to be under cover so we were able to sit through a lot of it.  I sat on papas lap and may or may have not fallen asleep.  I did get a burst of energy (perhaps from all of the cotton candy) so I did some walking up and down the stairs.  Until she tripped....and got a scratch on her knee....needless to say that was the end of the world.  Can you say, Drama Queen?  I on the other hand rode the carousel with papa and had a grand ole' time until they said this rain is never going to stop so we headed back to the car and got really wet.  It was fun.  Of course, we both crashed not long after leaving.  I guess they started the game back up like 3 hours later, but we were already home and comfortable and grandpa got us a yummy dinner from Macaroni Grill.  Ok, for the adults...we voted on Mac N'Cheese...and ours is just as good.  Yes, Heidi and I ate the entire box by ourselves, what of it?  


The next week was a short one...as it was time to celebrate USA!  We have been doing that while watching the World Cup, but it was USAs birthday so this time more than just a few cheers.  We did our neighborhood parade where I showed off my art skills and let dad pull me the entire time.  Maybe next year, I'll ride solo.  But the most fun of all was my long lost BFF Ava came back for a visit.

I was SO excited all week long, I counted down till Friday.  Ava and her family all came to celebrate the 4th with us after we discovered how much fun our neighborhood was last year. We had SO much fun.  We played on the slip n' slide, ate lots (watermelon and bomb pops were definitely my favorite!), sang/danced (who knew Ava loved Frozen as much as me....oh wait, every kid does!), made our own flag shirts, played with glow sticks, watched fireworks, and even did our own sparklers!  

xI had fun with Ava's 'little' sister Vivian too....and was a champ making it all the way through the fireworks.  I may or may not have actually seen any of them though, because I developed a new obsession with bracelets....specifically those of the glo stick variety.  In fact, where did those go?  I know I was still wearing them last week?  Mom!!!

This past weekend we took to a trip to Lincoln.  I'm getting much better at traveling if I do say so myself.  It helps that I now ROCK the Preschool monkey game on the iPad.  Upon arriving at Grandma's house I gave her a huge hug.  She liked that.  We had fun catching up and playing.  Grandma spoiled us with a new awesome jeep.  I was a bit afraid to drive it.  I was just so worried that I wouldn't be good.  I was ready to drive, but that darn height (or lack thereof) is a major disadvantage.  I can't reach the pedal!  Well lucky us, Elmo had a nice neighbor girl, Jenna, who is now my friend.  She took turns driving me and Heidi around and even taught me how to drive by letting me put my feet and hands on hers.

It was just a weekend, but we had lots of fun.  We went to the zoo in the AM.  My favorite part is the choo choo train.

 We then went to grandpa's place to meet him for some swimming, since it was a warm day!  He taught me how to doggie paddle.  I still want someone to hold on to me, but I am getting better.  I move my arms AND legs.

We even got a quick visit in to mom's friend Sarah P and her FOUR girls.  That's right….you heard me.  They all seemed super nice, but I was so overwhelmed by all the toys I didn't warm up as fast as mom wanted.  But she should know by now that I take a while to settle in.  And since she got lost (i.e. drove to Crete) in the process of trying to find their house.   I could sense her frustration so I tried to keep Heidi happy.  I could tell mom really liked their pretty house.  I definitely would take their awesome playroom.  Seriously dad, get moving on that basement!

Until next time we will continue to enjoy an awesome/mild summer.  I keep hearing mom say why couldn't it have been this nice when I was in her tummy.  Get over it already!

Hopefully no more sicknesses coming through the house.  Although, Nala likes it when we are home during the day and she has someone to cuddle with.
