Fun, Fabulous, Forty!!

So it has been non-stop fun since the last blog (and I guess it continues through this month).  The most important thing was dad's birthday.  He is 40.  Dad told me that is 4 10 times.  Whoa!  I got a real idea of how many that was as I put in all of his candles in the cool "Go Big Royals" cake we got him.  I nearly ran out of room!  His birthday was celebrated in style, I guess because it was a 'big one'.  It started with friends Marlen/Emilie coming for a visit Thursday, I served them my famous pizza and quickly realized how cool they were.  I guess the 'adults' went and had fun while we were at school on Friday.  After school we spent all evening on the deck.  The weather was amazing...and guess who showed up?  Nana, Papa, Rachelle, Siera, Jason, & Mallorie!  We had lots of fun eating cake (I LOVE cake!).
I got ALL 40 candles in (I am very big
on giving thumbs up these days)

And after showing them my baseball skills we had a game with the whole gang in the backyard…we had a huge team!  It was so fun! I even showed Rachelle some dance moves as you can see!
This was some of the people that came out for dad's bday…I guess they never got one with the whole group.
I know he had so much fun.  He even got a game ball (thank you Kellie) to remember the day!

Bubbles!!
We got to spend all day Saturday playing while I guess dad was surprised with more family and friends - 20 in all - who came down to celebrate his birthday at the Royals game!  They had an awesome tailgate full of drinks and games and then got to watch the game where they even put dad's name on the big board.  I heard he had a lot of fun...but so did we!  We painted nails, played, watched movies, the list goes on and on.  I may have given cousin Siera a hard time, I'm hoping that I am forgiven so she comes back to visit again.  Mom and dad said we owe her big time!!  We hung out with everyone a bit on Sunday before they headed back and left us to deal with mom & dad who seemed ridiculously tired.  Geez….I guess he is old.  I have been pointing out his white hairs as of late….i still love him though!

love wearing nanas necklaces

Other highlights since last writing:

- Elmo came to visit!  We had lots of fun.  We got lots of hugs and kisses….but I will say the highlight for me was going to the zoo!  We saw the penguins and even watched the seal show.  Yeah, that was really cool!

- We took a long drive up to H-town to celebrate Bailey's graduation.  The drive was not short, especially when Heidi cried the last hour (Hey, it gets a little boring sitting backwards with nothing to do!)…but all worth it.  We got to see all of our cousins/aunts/uncles, it was an awesome party.  I will let the pictures show the highlights.  Congratulations to Bailey who is heading to Lincoln next year….3 cousins will be there next year!

Lots of goodbye kisses!  Aunt Brenda and Jack got in on the love too!

So excited to spend lots of time with my godfather, Eric.  He is moving
to Denver soon to start his new job.  Maybe we should plan my 1st ski trip!
I also got to see my godmother Danielle!

if you want to spend time with me,
paint my nails.

I got to mow with Uncle Brian!

and ride in the golf cart with Jason

- We did celebrate mom on Mothers Day.  Not with the 6 hr drive home (although I did do MUCH better…I think I was pretty worn out from the busy weekend), but we actually made a whole trip to the farm on Saturday to make mom some cool stones to put outside.  We had lots of people in on helping make these super great gifts for her.  I think she really loved them.  And they were pretty fun to make!  They were, and on top of that we got to see the animals.  The cows were awesome.  The chickens were scary!

Mothers Day picnic stop in St. Joe
- I finished soccer - boo….but started taking private swim lessons - yay.  Up until this week, I have been a star pupil doing whatever I'm told.  This week, not so much.  I may have cried the entire time.  I am going to blame being tired after the long weekend.  While Amelia learns, I have been getting reacquainted with the water.  I held on to mom so tight the first time, I was not a fan…but this week I had a blast playing and going down the slide!
- We have been enjoying the beautiful Spring weather, with lots of time spent outside.  Playing ball, in the sandbox, and planting flowers, even playing in the rain (or in our case the huge river we get with big rains).

We love playing in mommy's car when she gets home from work.
Heidi and her great table manners.  Also giving you a look at the weird 'stroke' face she makes.  With that, we are over the picture limit!  Amelia & Heidi OUT!
