409

No, not the cleaning solution....although, if anyone wants to bring some of that over, I'm sure they could find some good uses for it.  That is actually the time Heidi has decided to start waking up these days.  Exactly 4:09.  Truthfully, I sleep through it all but mom and dad talk plenty.  They are none too thrilled.

Thanks for ratting me out Amelia.  You see, I am now officially 4 months old so I figure why not wake up at 4?  I know I didn't wake up at 3 at 3 months...but this girl just wants to try something new.  Apparently it is not appreciated.  Well you know what, I didn't appreciate being left in my bed for an hour to fend for myself either.  I knew if I stuck with it long enough, mom would eventually give in.  Maybe, just maybe I will work on "sleeping like a good child" again, as mom says.  Ouch.  Backing up.  Yes, I have hit the big 4 month mark!  Wow.  We celebrated by a trip to the doctor again where they checked me out.  I am right on track on my growth chart, weighing in at 12lbs12oz and 24 1/4 inches (1 lb and 1inch more than Amelia was!  Watch out!).  I am beginning to think I don't like this doctor place so much.  Most of the time was spent waiting around until the big moment.  That is when the nurse sticks me with a needle - 3 times!  I just looked at daddy and said "why did you let her do that to me!!!"....he hugged me and I got to feeling better pretty quick.  I even smiled at the nurse to let her know I forgave her.  Speaking of smiling, I am told that I am the happiest baby ever.  I pretty much am always smiling or talking....and, when Amelia lets me get a word in, I can really go.  I have lots of stories to tell!

Although apparently not that many stories.  I guess things have been pretty quiet.  Below are a few pics for your viewing pleasure.  As well as a video of me joining in on Mickey's Hot Dog dance...boy do I love it!!
Making (& eating) some cookies with mom
As always, I had a lot of fun on a play date with my friend Davis on MLK Jr day.
Enjoying the unseasonably warm weather with some swinging!
Dad brought up my old exersaucer for Heidi to play with.  We both had fun!
Helping dad rake....ok, maybe just taking pictures with mom

Oh and 1 more picture that dad took the other morning.  Yes, I picked out our matching (purple!) outfits.  Mom says this picture shows off Heidi's mohawk well....and yes, it is always that way even when we try to brush it down.  Maybe she is meant to be a rocker.

Hibernation

I guess it is that time of the year, and it has been decided that I might be part bear.  Why you ask?  Well lately, sleep has been about my favorite thing in the world.  Don't get me wrong, I have been having fun during wake hours...but if someone says it is time to go to bed or take a nap, I am ALL over it.    And really don't appreciate being woke up.  Something about "waking a sleeping bear".  Dad says that my bedtime is going to keep getting pushed up until I start waking up a bit happier.  In fact, the other night I CHOSE to go to bed over having milk and watching Mickey.  As many of you know, I must be tired if I am foregoing Mickey!

Amelia joined me in bed for some mobile watching!

Us sisters may have some differences, but I will concur with Amelia.  I am a fan of sleep.  I am still trying to get use to the early morning weekday schedule sometimes I wake up on my own, but often mom wakes me up.  I do always wake up happy though.  I'll try to get Amelia on board...I mean really, why not be happy?  It is a new day!  I am told that I cry way less than Amelia does, she does seem extra whiney lately.  Dad says she is a real bear.  And not the cute, cuddly kind apparently.  I am staying happy and good in hopes that I get some brownie points.  I am also settling into daycare pretty good now and am told that I am such a good baby and so pretty. Who knows what they are comparing to, but I'll take it. I have those teachers wrapped around my finger!  I sleep a lot better now that mom gave them a sleepsack to swaddle me at school.  I don't know what they were thinking trying to just have me sleep on my back not swaddled.  Stupid state laws.  Baby Jesus was swaddled, so I'm pretty sure it is OK for you to swaddle me!  On the weekends, or sometimes in the evening, I get a taste of the good life.  That is....napping on my tummy.  Ahhhh...it makes me happy just thinking about it!

I love playing (i.e. chewing) this toy!
No real developmental updates on my part.  I am just growing up, need to do another weigh in, but dad says I am chunking up.  I don't roll over regularly, but sometimes when the mood is right.  I go back to front or front to back!  I am drooling quite a bit now, which makes for some wet shirts.  Dad thinks I may be teething, who knows.  Amelia is pretty good at wiping my 'bubbles' when she see them.  She is a good big sis like that.

I try.  I don't think I have many updates either.  I am working on my numbers more now (as I have all the colors down pat), I enjoy playing with my playdough and putting together puzzles still.  Oh, we did have fun last weekend at my friend Ava's house for some good food.  It has been a while since I have been over there, so I enjoyed exploring all her cool toys.  It wasn't just Ava, there were a bunch of boys there too.  Will, Rennick, Riggs, & Reynolds.  They all seem to have more energy (i.e. are more social) than me.  I think mom and dad lucked out having another low key girl this time, a boy would definitely change the dynamics of our house!

I had a rough night this past weekend as I woke up and my tummy was hurting.  The next thing I know I puked all over myself and my bed.  Mom and dad came to get me and clean things up, and once I got new clean pj's on I did it again and again and again.  After cleaning it all up, they realized that feeding me bacon for breakfast, hot dogs for lunch, and ribs for dinne may have not been the best idea.  Seiously....parents of the year there!  Maybe I had a touch of the flu that is going around, but pretty sure it was just poor decision making on the parents part.  No, I take no blame that I refused to eat the vegetables/fruit that may have counterbalanced some of that!  I basically didn't eat the next day and seem to feel back to my old self now.  Yay!  Maybe I'll have more updates next time.  Sweet Dreams until then.  Amelia OUT!

Here are some pictures to tide you over until next time.  Doing some tummy time and sisterly bonding.

Mom says we kind of look alike in this one....

So begins a New Year

Happy 2013 all!  Hope you all had a great time ringing in the New Year.  I sure did.  We had a party at our place and who doesn't like a party?  We had some really yummy food, my personal favorites being the pizza (shocker, I know) and these super tasty ice cream sandwiches that Avery's mommy made.  Oh and the 'sparkling wine'....tasted like apple juice (my fave) to me!  All the usual friends were there and we spent most of the time in the basement playing with toys, drawing on chalkboards, and decorating some party hats.  I did a lot of playing with Avery and Maddie, while the boys played together.  Mae and Heidi mainly hung out (literally.....as they were often in the Bjorns).  As you can tell they both got a bit sleepy even with all the ruckus.  I had a lot of fun and admittedly was still wired when dad made me finally hit the sack after everyone left (around 10).  Needless to say, I slept in on New Years!  Heidi on the other hand chose to wake up really early for a quick bite but then was back down for the count and woke up when I did.  I guess I have missed out on the fact that Heidi has chosen to wake up the past few nights.  Sue me, that i sleep so hard!
Missing Lukas in this shot, he wasn't as keen on the hat!
Daddy's cousin Nick and his wife Mollie came over too!
Sleeping on dad's sweet NYE shirt.

looks like some teeth may be starting to bud yet?
Amelia, you are making me look bad.  Perhaps it is true....I have regressed some.  Maybe I just like the extra time with mom.  Ever think of that?  Dad has come in a couple of the nights, but despite his hugs I have informed him that I was having none of that.  Maybe I was just getting nervous for my first days at school.  Yep, that's right, I started this week.  Mom didn't seem all too thrilled.  They seem nice enough, but the jury is still out.  I mean they don't let me nap on my tummy and they won't wrap me up in blankets.  And then they go and wonder why I don't sleep for more than a few minutes and have red, puffy, tired eyes?  I have now gone through 3 days there, and we have come to some arrangements when it comes to napping, and I am working on drinking a bit faster for them.  Apparently I'm a slow eater (first I heard of this).  One bonus is, Amelia is in the room next to me and she has even come in to say hi to me.  I feel better knowing she is watching out for me.  Mom even talked them into sending her pictures of me every once in a while (like Miss Martha did for Amelia when she was a baby)...so I am trying to work at looking happy for her to help put her mind at ease!

Big Heidi and Baby Heidi!
Yes, sis...I got your back!  That is what big sisters do.  I am working hard at being a big girl these days.  This includes the whole potty training thing which makes dad quite happy.  In other news, mom and dad got to take a couple hour break from us and they went to watch a movie!  I don't think they really wanted to leave us, but my old babysitter Heidi was in town (she moved away for college) and she wanted to see me (ok, and maybe meet our Heidi too)....and the feeling was mutual, so the rents went out and let us play for a bit.  It was fun!

A few more updates on my part past my sleeping abilities.  I also rock tummy time as you can see in video below.  I do roll over often when doing so, but mom never catches it on camera.  She also gets annoyed that I do my talking on camera much either.  But I have learned to speak at a higher decibel level as of late.  I have to speak over to big mouth big sis, you know!  Dad says I talk and smile way more than Amelia did.  What else...oh, I don't know...I am once again side tracked by this amazing fist...

I think that is the extent of the updates this time around.  Later....Amelia (& Heidi) OUT!

Been spending lots of time playing with my play dough.  Mom and I made some food for daddy and then I decided I wanted some mac n' cheese and hot dogs.  Yum!

I almost forgot to mention the fact that we watched the Nebraska game on New Years...oh wait, maybe there is a reason.  Better to forget...

Mom says I have her nails, I guess Amelia is stuck with dads....

Dad made me make snow angels,

As you can see, I was  not a huge fan.  I prefer the sled.

dad calls this the magic hat, because
I fall asleep whenever it is on
