There's a Time for Talking

Oh boy. I had this written to post back in April and just waited for mom to put in videos...and we see how well that went. So I am going to push post, so I can get going on the last 2 months. Geez!

Hey all! I'm back for my 2nd update of the year. I'm handing the reigns over to my baby sister. You see she is quite the talker now, so I thought only fair. Why thank you! Yes, it may have been some time coming, but I am making up for it getting words in...well, all the time. In fact, my speech therapist says I'm so good that she doesn't have to come anymore. I guess that is a good thing, although I liked her! I'm still pretty quiet at school, except at nap time. Yeah, mom is quite upset that I choose to talk to myself instead of nap. They just are not as good of rockers as mom and dad. Ok, I will admit...I prefer mom. I may put on quite a fit when it is dad's turn to put me to bed. Daddy is nice, but sometimes I tell him he is mean...he doesn't like that so much. Actually, I have found if someone is angry/yelling at me I just say "mommy (insert name) nice" and that makes them laugh or at least stop yelling. Anyway, back to school...mom says I am ready for preschool next year. As you can see in the video I am quite good at my numbers. Still working thru my ABCs, but I can sing along to my favorite shows: Mickey Mouse, Spirit, Muppet Babies, and PJ Masks like no other. Oh! I like it when sisters play PJ Masks with me - I'm Gekko! And then we met them for a quick photo op at HyVee!

I was surprised/scared as I thought my 'chocolate'
spot had disappeared, but then I found it on
my other arm!

Life is pretty fun with my family. I love that it is getting nice outside because I get to go to the park and places like the zoo with mom. And I get to play with all the big kids all afternoon when they get home from school. I think for the most part they like me playing along with them. Mom says I sometimes think I am older than I am.
I'm the only one who gives Nala love. I
felt she needed a baby to play with too!

Yes, I'm getting brave these days!

She does, but we love playing with her too. I mean how can I not, it is like looking back at old pictures of me whenever I look at her. Dad just showed me a 'memory' that was on his phone and all of us thought it was Lena not me 6 years ago! Ok, more about me. I just mainly enjoy playing with neighbors. School has been good, I even won the ROAR award for last quarter. Apparently that isn't enough to let mom and dad not make me do my homework and study spelling words. It is such a drag. I do not like it. I don't mind doing it all in school, we started multiplication which is kind of cool, but I really don't like talking about it or doing it at home. Not when it is so nice out! My teacher has been gone for a few weeks because of surgery so we have had substitutes, but before she left my mom and I went to Kaleidoscope (where she works on weekends) for our March date. It was a lot of fun, but not before going out for lunch at mom's favorite place Ponak's. Give me a quesadilla and chips and I'll agree to anywhere!

I just started softball back up for the Spring. My team is called the Ladybugs, I have cute ladybug socks, so that is awesome. I don't know any of the girls, but trying to make a few friends. If they are not intimidating by my awesomeness. Ha. Just kidding, but I did rock my 1st game. Even got a triple!

Outside of fun activities, you all know my favorite thing is going places. Specifically hotels. We have made a couple of trips since last blog. 1st up was a surprise trip to Great Wolf Lodge. I have been asking to go there forever! We got off the bus after school and they put us in the car to go swim all afternoon, eat, do dance party, story time, and best of all sleep in bunk beds! We had our own private kid area and Lena even got to sleep in a big girl bed by herself for the 1st time. She did good. She always wants to sleep with us, but she has to be potty trained and even though she has and can do it, apparently even that isn't motivation enough to officially try. I mean come on sis, M&M's were enough for me! Anyway, back to the Lodge. We had so much fun on the water slides. Heidi and I want to just go there for days and days. Luckily we lucked out and school was cancelled (9th snow day) so we got to spend the whole next day there before coming back to reality.

Just need to grow a bit more...

We also took a mini Spring Break trip. Mom wanted to get out of town, for cheap. She found a last minute...like day of deal to go to Branson. But we didn't go to SDC like usual, we stayed at a hotel that had a water park (like Great Wolf), but they also had mini golf, go carts, games, pizza, and shows. We even went up on stage at the pet show they had. Ok, that is because Lena insisted and kept saying "come on Mimi". This whole talking thing of hers now, is so cute! Anyway, it was a ton of fun. We stayed up late and swam at the pool til 10pm! They had slides that went outside, but get this...they had lights in them. Way fun. Yeah, I wasn't big enough to ride on those. Still have some growing to do, I guess. Slow and steady wins the race.

What I am not slow at is reading. I have started reading chapter books...bring on 1st grade! Mommy says I am doing so good...she also keeps telling me how I'm such a good bike rider. Sometimes I forget since I try to keep up with Amelia all the time, but on our last bike ride (5 miles), I actually made it up the hills that Amelia had to walk up. Take that! We like to ride to Chipotle or a park. I love them both. I love parks, I love Heidi, I love Levi.. Yes, Lena likes to tell us all the time everything she loves. I do like that she always says my name first.
I found old clip on earrings from my mom's
grandma Heidi...I love wearing them.

I'm going to start t-ball this summer, but until then I am just keeping up with gymnastics. I can now do pullover on the bar! And am getting close on my walkover. Mom says if I actually practiced, I probably would be able to do it. I guess she could be right.

A few more highlights since last writing. I have been enjoying girl scouts and loved going to the 50s sock hop with dad. We danced - and snacked - a lot. And look just how cool we are. Perhaps I was meant to be a 50s girl!

I also got my date last month with mom. We rode the street car and had a day downtown it was lots of fun!
Easter was really nice this year. Finally no snow or rain. We went to our neighborhood egg hunt and then of course had a great time looking for the eggs the Easter bunny left us. We didn't get to see the Easter bunny this year, which was probably good because Im sure Lena would have screamed. We did see like 8 bunnies - no joke the day before, so I'm guessing those were spies or helpers? We haven't seen them since. Weird huh?! Before Easter we had a lot of fun dying eggs, making cookies, and of course we went to church to celebrate both Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Oh, I can't leave out a few quick family visits we had. Siera was in town on St. Patty's day, so she came with us to go watch the parade and have lunch. Can't wait till she is my roomie this summer! Nana and papa came down. It seemed like Christmas was along time ago, so I was happy they came to visit. Papa let Amelia do his hair and went to Top Golf with us!

And it is Spring, so we can't leave out that we finally hit the K for this season. The Royals did not win, and are having another rough season. The good thing about that? We can more easily talk dad into going to the park and letting us run around.

Speaking of talking in. We talked mom into doing our very 1st garage sale. We had a lot of fun - and we are getting so close to our Disney target fund $...although, I feel like dad keeps raising that amount. I will NOT give up though. Until then, I am going to keep on hounding them week after week!

Until next time...Steffen Sisters OUT!
