Family of... three (still)!
I keep being told that my world is going to change when this baby comes, but I'm beginning to think she isn't ever going to come. Since I haven't fully come to a conclusion on this impending life change, I'm quite content with our family of 3 time. It has been pretty laid back, but ALL the attention is on me, and that is how I like it. Mom keeps saying that #2 may be a bit more like her than she thought....or at least not be quite as impatient as me and dad (whatever)....because she seems quite content hanging and getting bigger in mom's tummy!
| ooohhh....a tulip |
| yes, baby goes everywhere with me |
And here are a few videos....showing you some of my colors. Mom and dad seem to enjoy hearing me tell them colors of everything, e....so I do.... ALL day/night. I have most all of them down now after this past weekend. Even boring 'non-colors' like grey. On to something else I suppose.
Ok, next time I write I should really have some changes to report! Amelia OUT!

The waiting game

| Just chillin' while doing some shopping at Target |
Starting with my BFF Ava's bday party last Sunday. It was all about Elmo! So of course I had to dress the part and find an Elmo shirt. Admitedly, I was a bit shy at first even when Ava was giving me big hugs...but eventually I warmed up to everyone and had fun playing in her Elmo's World houses and with all her different toys and of course having some of her yummy cupcakes, cookies, and juice were a big help. MMM....sugar.
Since I have mentioned my indulgences of cake as of late, I will give you the latest on my 2 year stats. Apparently the sugars (and lack of fruits/vegetables) may have got to me because I jumped a bit on the weight chart at my 2 year doctor appointment this week, as you can see here. But the doc didn't seem too concerned...I guess I'm still totally average. The height was a bit tricky, the new nurse wasn't real sure what she was doing so when she measured me she had me down for less than I was at 18 months. Amateurs...the doc told me not to believe that, so we went home and measured in the comfort at our own home. According to the theories that you grow up to be double your height at the age of 2, I will be 5'6" when I get old. I'm good with that. That is pretty average, taller than mom...so can't complain. Although that may not lend well for any of my sport aspirations. I wasn't too thrilled with the shots I had to get, but the purple sucker made up for it!| We went to the local farmers market before the game where I scored some goodies, you know pasta & bread. Oh yeah, mom & dad got some other things I won't eat - you know fruits/vegetables... |

| check out....Ava had the same football leggings as me, I guess next time I will be sure to coordinate outfits with her! |

| check out all Lukas' hair! |
Speaking of sports I have watched (well kind of) a couple of Husker games since last post. One was good, one not so good. But both times we had some good company. The bad UCLA game I got to hang out with Lukas and his mom Kellie. We introduced them to Runza (mmmm...) and I tried my best to share toys with him. I'm still learning... too bad for him, I'm bigger than him so I won most of the time. That was the same with today's game where baby Ava and her parents came over. We had some pizza with all our fellow Husker fans over, Ava and her mommy & daddy, the Graham's, and dad's cousin Nick! They were all a bit better luck for us as we got a win this time around. Go Huskers!| making some dinner for Marley |

TWO exciting!
Today is my Birthday...na, na, na....i'm going to have a good time. I feel like I have been celebrating this big day for a while now. Mom & Dad say they aren't big birthday people, but this celebrating business has been pretty spread out. I am not complaining...I'll take the presents...and cake! Speaking of, I'll give you a few updates and then let the pictures do the talking.
Even though today is my official day my party was on Sunday. I guess weekends work better for parties. My party was exploding with purple and green. Yes, my favorite colors! Needless to say, I love my big 2 shirt since it was also purple. As I mentioned last time, mom and I made some treats for the party. Chocolate dipped pretzels with purple/green sprinkles! Some other purple/green foods and drinks were had as well....but my favorite was of course my purple cake. I will back up... pre-cake, I welcomed some friends. For most it was the first time seeing the new house. First Mason and then came Ava, Evan, Zach, & Avery! Mom spent time showing the house to everyone while I got use to the idea of sharing my toys. I think I did pretty good, only got jealous a couple of times. All in all it was a fun time. I wasn't real sure what to think when they all started singing Happy Birthday to me, I just stared at mom thinking maybe they will stop or they won't see me, if I stay really still. But after that was done we got to eat cake and ice cream. As you can guess...I loved every last bite. It may have taken me 30 minutes just to scrape every last bit of icing off first, but it was worth it. Hopefully my friends had fun too...there were some tears shed, but hopefully not too many to scare them away from coming over again. Ava's mommy was nice enough to take pictures at the party, so I have lots to show you. I will try to limit to not TOO many!

| I may not look happy, but I did get in here willingly |
| Not sure if you can tell, but I had a HUGE birthday card on the driveway that everyone signed. Super cool! |

Apparently I have grandpa's smile. What do you think?

Let's see what else....oh yeah, I finally got to open more presents. The boxes came a while ago and I had to wait. I have especially taken to my new baby from Aunt Rhonda....she goes everywhere with me, out to eat, bed, etc. And she has got lots and lots of kisses from me. I take her on walks in the cool stroller (if I am not climbing in it myself, or giving Marley a ride). I kiss and rock my other baby to sleep in my new baby crib from Eric too. I love them all!Today on my official birthday I dealt with the usual school routine, but we did have some of my yummy pretzels for a snack. Then dad gave me my favorite of hot dogs and mac n'cheese for dinner AND cake!! Speaking of presents check out what I got tonight from mom and dad. My very own trike! It may take some practice, but I think I will rock this thing out soon!
September apparently is a big birthday month, because along with mine...and Evan's party that I went to on Saturday, I have Ava's party to go to this weekend. So much CAKE. I love it!! Also Avery got a new baby sister Mae yesterday...and my baby sister should make her appearance this month too. Wow. September is an awesome month! I won't even get started talking about how it is also the beginning of football season!
Until next time, Amelia OUT!
| Playing with another new bday present. I'm a big fan of picking cherries. Kind of like picking apples from our tree out back, which by the way are quite yummy! |

I have been missing out!
We have had a rainy filled weekend so far. Oh how I have been missing out....I had no idea this stuff was so much fun! Apparently lots of people (especially farmers) are very happy about now. We have some drainage all around the yard, and with all the rain we have had today....it is filling up. Let me tell you this wa-wa is just as much fun as playing at the pool or in the shower. It did start getting a little cold....but totally worth it.
Ok, let me back up to the highlights since my last blog. I am going to let pictures do most of the talking, because I'm a bit worn out and not thinking so clearly.
As you can here, I have found a new love of Nutella. Mom and dad thought that perhaps I would enjoy it on some strawberries. Well I showed them by dipping my pizza in it. It was yummy!
Here I just thought I would show you how prepared I am for my trips in the car!

Last week we had a performance at school. Mom and dad both came to watch me, I felt pretty special. I will admit that I was a bit in stage shock, because I pretty much just gave them a blank stare while I was frozen in place while the kids around me sang the songs. Now, before you think I have no show in me...do make note that it was the 3-4 years olds really doing the actions....the rest of my 2-3 year old group was about as active as me. As you can see by the guy sitting down next to me on the step. The reward was a cupcake when all was said and done, so I was happy...as was mom! After the show, we went to go to a BBQ over at dad's cousin Nick and his wife Molly's house for the Chief's game. This was the first time we have gone over there....even though they are like 5 minutes away. They were pretty nice, and of course I was a fan of the food they had, so hopefully we'll get to see them more often. As you are well aware of my love for BBQ's...we got to go to another one last Sunday. Where I got to see Mason's new house. It was huge...like pulling up to the white house. I was in awe. Then along with all the yummy food I noshed on, I was also in awe of ALL of Mason's toys. Wow, it was like a toy store. I especially enjoyed this super cool car. I look good in it don't I? hint, hint dad..... All in all, it was a fun time. I got to see lots of the usual crowd...you know, Lukas, Evan, Zach, & Maddie....they were all looking good per usual.

A big highlight from last weekend was a visit from Grandpa McLain! It had been quite a while since I had last seen him, but it didn't take me long to warm up and share high fives, hugs, etc. As you can see, he came bearing presents. Why you ask? Well apparently I have a birthday coming up...I must say I rocked opening up the wrapping paper (Bring on Christmas!). He got me a really cool thing that helps me read books...so I don't always have to have mommy and daddy read now! I also got a neat homemade (well not by grandpa) quilt....actually that may be for baby sister...but I figure I can take it for a while.
| Look mom....a lego puppy just like ya-ya! |
![]() |
| I'm 80 legos tall apparently, and the scale said I weighed 3,500 legos. Mom refused to see how many she weighed! |

And here are a few pics of me from this week. As you can see, we have our fair share of trash these days....I like to help dad by carrying our recycling!
Marley's kennel has been brought back out for her to stay in....but I have some good fun climbing in and out of it myself!
Next blog I will update you about my birthday fun....until then, Amelia OUT!
