Well, Here we go again. Been months since I have last posted. I keep saying it is hard to find the time these days to sit down and catch you all up on our life with this blog. Well I guess the crazy world we live in just got crazier, and quieter. With the Corona virus pandemic and cancellation of EVERYTHING comes nothing but time. Since everything is closed AND the weather is icky, we can't go anywhere...so catch up blog here i come! I can use memories of the good ole days. Just wait till the next blog - I'm sure it will be just FULL of excitement.Get this. I am now into my 10th year of blogging. How crazy is that? I'm going to give you highlights by the month - from what I can remember that is.
To finish off November. We had another week long Thanksgiving break, so we started it off with enjoying weather outside with friends, going to Frozen 2 (Oh yeah...it was awesome), and lots of crafting! We decided to drive up to nana and papa's to celebrate Thanksgiving with everyone. We have been missing Siera so we got some extra time with her in when she took some family pictures for us. It was cold, but worth the sacrifice! Hendrix came over for Thanksgiving dinner, I had so much fun playing with him. He's my new best friend! I also had a good time playing with Will - he is my big buddy!
Ok. December, the most wonderful time of the year. I love Christmas! The carols, Santa, presents, Christmas Eve at church, and no school! This was the first year where no one cried when we went to see Santa. Well maybe mom. I think she was sad that we are all getting big. But there are good things to us being big. Like we can really play in the snow. And boy did we!
We started Christmas break with school assemblies and parties. Both Heidi and I won the ROAR award for our classes, so that was pretty cool. Right after our 'world celebration' parties (no Winter parties allowed anymore) we got in the car and headed to nana's house for the crazy Steffen Christmas. It was a lot of fun as usual. We have SO much fun seeing everyone. We played a game of kickball on the golf course. It was so fun, especially watching all the cousins slip on the wet spots. They take it seriously! So do you Amelia, I remember you pouting when you got out. Whatever, I did have fun. I just love anytime we get to go up there with everyone. We played BUNCO like my mom does with our neighbors. We also played this fun game that I like to watch on Ellen where've teams are blindfolded and try to explain what they are tasting. There is no way that I would play because I didn't want to try something gross, but it was a lot of fun watching people. Will was really good at the game! 
I of course loved all the presents. Who knew how much the craft kits we got would come in handy on these now long weeks at home. I thought it was fun giving presents. I was SO proud of the puppy travel pillow I picked out for Mallory. It looks like her dog and it was SO soft. I think she liked it! I got a lot of cool things myself too. Too many to count. Check out this book case Siera and papa made me. My books are so nice and organized now!

We were having fun looking and playing with things but then I had dad pull up NORAD and realized Santa was getting really close. So we got out milk, cookies, and carrots for the reindeer - placed our stockings and hurried to bed. I do NOT want him passing up our house for any reason. Don't worry. He didn't! He never lets us down! Skipping ahead to real times (Easter is quickly approaching, and I am slightly concerned this Corona virus will impact the Easter bunnies visit. I hope not! I guess I will report back on that next blog)

We normally spend our Christmas break between Hartington and Lincoln, but with nana doing Christmas early and Grandma Elmo is Arizona, we had our entire break here in KC. I was a bit concerned that I was going to be bored. But not at all. We had lots of fun as a family. The weather was nice enough for bike rides, and playing our new spike ball game from Santa. We also had a day at Top Golf with friends, went swimming at indoor pool (well before Heidi injured herself and we had to leave), we went to mom's sand volleyball games to play in the sand, Me and mom went on our date ice skating! I caught on much quicker this time. I really think it is fun. Oh thinking of that, we also went tubing! No, there wasn't snow on the ground but we went to a local 'ski' place to do it. It was awesome! We could line up our tubes and hold on and go down together. I totally thought Lena would chicken out, but she did it too!
We celebrated New Years Eve with friends again. And YES all of us made it to midnight to officially ring in 2020. Lena won't miss out on anything. Mom and dad say it is ok, since we all slept in the next day till real late. Why don't they always let us stay up late then, huh? Anyway, I was so excited for 2020. I mean it sounds cool and I'm going to be 10...so how can it not be great? Well enter the Corona virus to put a damper on that theory!
Another main highlight of Christmas break was a visit from Grandpa McLain. We even ventured downtown to Crown Center and took him on the streetcar one day. It wasn't a long time, but we enjoyed his stay! He brought us our Christmas presents. He knows how to pick out some great stuff! Yes, Mimi. He is so cool. He gave me my very own basketball. Just my size!!! I love it and dribble all the time. I keep telling dad how good I am going to be when I grow up. I must be pretty good now because whenever I go to my sister's games I have people coming up and talking to me about my skills! She really IS quite good. But we all do. Just call us the Steffen Sister studs. Lena does often wear a jersey when she comes to our games. I guess in case dad needs an extra player. She could just dribble her way through people's legs! I love playing too! We had a fun season and I think I am getting much better. I can't wait till next year when I move up to 5 on 5 like Amelia.
Yes, team Thunderwolves (after a lot of cancellations due to weather) did finally end our season. We were undefeated in the regular season! With all the makeups, our final weekend we had 3 games. 1 we won with a last second shot, 1 in OT, and the other one was only by a point too. So they were all exciting. We were a bit curious as we lost our top scorer from last year to a different team, but our team was great! I like stats so of course kept all the papers and did the math. I ended the season averaging 9.8 points a game. Not too bad. I'll include some videos so you can all see me in action.
Speaking of sports. How 'bout them Chiefs??? Oh it was a fun month or so in this city. My guy Mahomes (have I told you all how much I love him? I just love his smile. He is so handsome), and the rest of the team pulled off some super exciting games to win the Super Bowl. That's right...they WON. That means we had another big city parade. We got off school again - like when the Royals won - but we didn't go this time. It was cold out and we learned from the chaos before and decided to watch them from home.
Ok, ending with the end of February early March - we will call pre-quarantine time. Nana and Papa came down to watch some basketball and hang out with us while mom and dad had some time to themselves with a little getaway to the plaza for their 3rd anniversary. They also picked up a truckload of girl scout cookies! Thank you to everyone who bought cookies from me this year. I actually doubled my sales. Mom says if she knew we were going to be stuck inside so long she would have let us buy more. We are almost through our stash!

I got to go on a school field trip on what was now our last day of school for the year. I guess that worked out nicely. Mom came with us to Coterie theater, kaleidoscope and more. It was fun and the last time I have been anywhere. Crazy!!
