Apparently the news has been daunting these days with some not so great activity going on in the world...but the D Day I am talking about is Delivery day. That's right, no turning back, our baby sister will be here before we know it. As mentioned before, baby sister has to come early so mom has gone to the hospital to get some shots to get her lungs ready to come out early. They have scheduled the day mom has to go hospital for surgery. And can you believe it, they scheduled it on my FIRST day of Kindergarten. Are you kidding me? Mom gave them an earful and now baby sister is coming the day after I start school if all goes as planned. August 17th. I can't decide what I am more excited for.....ok, I think baby sister, but starting school and riding a bus is way up there. We have been trying to get ready in case she shows up even earlier, so we went and got my school supplies this weekend. Mom says times have changed since she needed school supplies. She had to look up what a stylus pen was. Silly mom didn't realize we needed electronic stuff too. We do get an iPad after all!I will be moving up to the Rainbow room in school. I'm sure I will learn a lot too. Right now my latest obsession is cutting. We come home most every day and cut and color. I like to make bracelets for people. I know daddy loves them.
Anyway, we haven't checked in for a while as up until this week, we have virtually had non-stop visitors. You would think that would mean we have lots of pictures, but as mentioned before....mom isn't as good at taking pics as she used to be. So hear goes nothing from what we can find:
Father's Day...apparently we didn't post us celebrating the best dad ever because here is a pic of the grilling plate we made him.

Independence Day - aka 4th of July. My BFF Ava and her family came up again this year to visit and party! But before the annual party where other friends came over, they spent an extra day just hanging out. We went to Deanna Rose, watched movies, and played with her and Vivi's new baby brother Jack. He was really cute and smiley. I had a lot of fun playing peek-a-boo with him. It made me excited to have our own baby to play with. Mom said that baby sis will likely be quite a bit smaller than him - he is a big boy! On the 4th we joined in the neighborhood parade before the usual crowd also come over and enjoy some food and partying. Luckily it wasn't quite as hot so we got to play outside quite a bit in bouncy house, water balloon fight, etc. up until the best part of course. Fireworks!! And GlowSticks! I have just as much fun with those!![]() |

Other guests/visitors.. we got to catch up and eat with the Pinkelman's when they were in town. The girls are so much fun to play with. Apparently it is the time of year everyone has wanted to come down and enjoy some KC vacations, because we also got to see cousins. Yay! Gabby & Mallory made a quick trip down with nana and papa where we did some awesome shopping and played a lot. Including some killer games of trash. Then a couple days later Uncle Matt came down with his whole crew. We got to have lots of fun with them all. Playing, eating a lot....but we also went swimming, went to see Beauty and the Beast at Starlight, and went to a Royals game - a super good one. Dyson got a grand slam! (side note: we tend to be good luck charms to the team as they are 15-1 when we are there...unfortunately they don't do so great when we are not there so apparently we will see mom and dad more this October than we did the last couple of years). I digress...we had SO much fun with the fam. We may have been extra tired after they left due to some late nights...but that is what summer is about, right?!

| 10:30 on a Monday night and still amped up from the game! |

I finished my tee ball season. Actually we didn't even have that many games between hot weather and field issues, it was pretty rough. I still had fun though. Dad says I can start playing softball and go past the tee next! Are you kidding me, Amelia? YOU had fun? I had fun watching your games and cheering you on. AND my friend Hazel brought this super cool tent for us to stay well....cool, in at the last game!

Your games were fun to go to, but nothing like the Royals games. No music and definitely no popcorn or other goodies. Ha. That reminds me, at the last game we went to I did an awesome photo bomb of the people doing a selfie in front of us. So much so they bought me some popcorn. They were impressed. :)
Let's not forget the swimming pool....definitely my favorite part of the summer. I usually talk daddy into taking us at least once a week. I am working on explaining to him how awesome it would be if we had one in our backyard, but so far no luck there. I have started swimming by myself a lot. This past weekend I finally decided I was going to go off the diving board. And it was awesome. I probably went off fifteen hundred times. I can do a mean cannonball! We also had fun doing the 'lily pads' with friends/family. I did good (and eventually did try to at least walk across them).
Dad.....he didn't do so good.
