Spreading the Love

Apparently yesterday was the day to express your love to people. I don't know why we need a silly day for that, I try to do it all the time! Obviously, I hear it all the time from them - so I have started telling mom & dad "I love you" before I go to bed....after I hand out 2-3 (sometimes sloppy) kisses. I also think our 3 way kisses are pretty fun! So needless to say, I don't see all the hype in this Valentines Day business. But at the same time, I do thoroughly enjoy the balloon from dad (Marley adopted the teddy that was holding the balloon)and stickers from mom. We 'celebrated' on Monday because dad went back to Nebraska so that he can go be with family. Grandma Kay's sister, Melbe passed away this weekend, so people are sad. I said I could go to help try and cheer people up, but then found out i would be spending more time in a car then actually there and decided that sounded like that would just make me sad, which would totally defeat the purpose. So mom and I have stayed back and are saying prayers for everyone.

Another piece of this 'holiday' that I did not realize was that I was suppose to take stuff for my friends at school. A heads up on that from someone totally would have been nice. Instead, I ended up being the sucker (luckilly not the only one) who didn't share my love. Mom says I can blame her, she initially had the excuse of being gone on vacation but since that didn't happen she doesn't have one either! I suppose I will try to remember for next year. When I actually may get to enjoy some of the candy I got...for now, mom gets to eat that. Someone did give me fruit snacks...but hello they sound and look like fruit, do you think I would give them a shot? Answer is a big N-O. I did however get some play-dough from Ava.  I love taking the cap on and off of the container.

To that point, I'll back up on a few other updates. Last Thursday & Friday my school was closed and since mom didn't have vacation time to burn, I got to spend Thursday with Ava! Oh my gosh, she lives the good life. Immediately when I got there, I had fun checking out her toys, puzzles, and books! And then....we got to go to the museum. It was such a blast checking out all the things with my friend this time. We played in the farmers market where these fruit and vegetables didn't seem too bad. But I had fun checking out Ava when she bought her produce! As you can see, we had matching/opposite outfits on. I know...so cute. After playing, we went and had lunch at...get this...Fritz's! I love those trains. What an awesome day! We spent the rest of the day playing with all her toys and I showed her my new extreme love for necklaces so she even gave me a couple. Geez, I really do owe her! Needless to say, when dad came to pick me up, I was in no mood to leave this fun zone. All an all...a great day.
we both look busy don't we?!
Maybe these pears aren't so bad after all?

Now...Friday, was a bit more low key. Ok way more. You see, mom worked from home, so no field trips. But she says that she is pretty sure that she pays my school too much because I am "a breeze". She apparently was quite impressed that I spent 45 minutes taking on and off my necklaces while she worked at the table, I then proceeded to go sit on the couch and read book after book for another 30 minutes. I was rewarded with dad coming home for the second half of the day. So we got to all go enjoy lunch at Houlihans...yummy...and then I hung out with dad and even took Marley for a walk. Seriously, this weather is nuts! Although, right when I say that....what happens? But it finally snowed! Monday we woke up to a fresh powder! Finally. Who would have thought it would take this long to get the first inch of snow in the metro for the winter?! Dad took me out in the backyard to play in the snow, but I really wasn't that interested. You know me and getting things on my hands. Even if snow is just frozen water. I didn't have another day to try it out though as it all melted away. Maybe if we get another one....or...next year. Don't be confused by the picture....I still know to say 'cheese' when the camera comes out...happy or not.

Video of me playing with my necklaces
Not much else to report around here. Oh! I did have a fun night with Heidi on Saturday night while mom and dad went to some fancy dinner. She took some video of me eating...apparently, I am funny.

I am a big fan of dancing to all music lately. And love to sing along to everything. I'm thinking I get both skills from different parents, you guess who! I do have a video of me dancing with dad to the Husker ball - love it. My favorite song to sing right now is Baby Bumble bee....along with the actions! Unfortunately, mom only knows verse 1....so I still have to work on teaching her the rest apparently. I'll get a video once I can get the parents up to speed! Amelia OUT!
